The bomb(e)shell of Orchard road
Project: Sourbombe Artisanal Bakery, Wisma Atrium
For Sourbombe Artisanal Bakery’s third outlet, the objective was to capture the hearts and palates of shoppers on Orchard Road. Situated in the bustling basement of Wisma Atrium, the 300+ sqft store is designed to cater to quick takeaways and self-collection for online orders. The challenge lay in creating an efficient operational layout within a compact space while ensuring an eye-catching storefront that stands out in a crowded environment. Visitors are welcomed by a distinctive circular cut-out entrance, a nod to the brand’s beloved bombes.
At the center, a multi-tiered display fridge showcases fresh, aesthetically pleasing pastries, providing a focal point of symmetry and allure. Overhead, a two-tier open shelving system with copper tiling and cove lighting highlights the brand’s vibrant packaging, adding to the store’s visual appeal. To ensure seamless operations, we installed a central pigeonhole that connects the front and back-of-house to ensure seamless restocking of pastries. When it came to brand consistency, we applied the signature pink and blue color scheme, while incorporating the curved treatments and wave motifs from previous outlets. These elements not only ensure a cohesive brand identity but also soften the transitions from wall to ceiling, creating a harmonious and inviting storefront.
